Paper Chasing

The end is near, my friends. We made it through the so called “end of the world”, but the end of the regular season is still looming over our heads. This weekend, we have a little different schedule. The “Monday” night football game is actually on Saturday night. The fake football season is coming to an end soon, so I won’t waste anymore time. Here are some of this weekend’s interesting match ups, and my opinion of the players involved.

Quarterbacks

Cam Newton: Cam has been at the top of many lists for a few weeks now. He has been playing very solid ball, and shows no signs of slowing down. This week, he plays a weak Oakland defense. They are giving up an average of 248.3 in the air, and 122.5 on the ground. Cam has thrown for at least 230 yards in 6 straight games…

Big Ben Unhappy With Big Boos For Wallace

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — Never one to pass the buck, Ben Roethlisberger, who completed half his attempts for 285 yards, three touchdowns, and one costly pick in his return Sunday, stood up for the teammate who postured for big bucks over the summer.

“No one should ever get booed,” Roethlisberger said in regard to fans at Heinz Field who loudly did so to receiver Mike Wallace during a 34-24 loss to the Chargers. “We’re out there busting our butt, and no one ever does anything, intentionally, to hurt the team. I don’t intentionally throw interceptions. Guys don’t miss blocks or fumble…we don’t intentionally do it.”

In any event, even 30-year-old Big Ben, an accomplished veteran who has endured his share of indefensible performances, had a hard time explaining the ones that have taken place this season, including Sunday’s.
